How do we register?
Registration is completed online through the VYI website. If you are unable to register online please contact the rugby commissioner. The commissioner's contact information can be found on the contacts page of the VYI Rugby homepage.
When can we register?
Registration is usually opened in December for Spring rugby and April for Summer rugby.
When does registration close?
Registration closes late in the season; spring and summer. See the Register Online page for the specific date. If the "Register Online" button is displayed on the VYI Rugby home page, registration is open.
What is the registration fee?
Rugby is a minimal equipment sport. We try to keep fees low to encourage participation. Fees are set each year based on budgeted expenditures. See the Register Online page for the current registration fee.
What does the registration fee pay for?
The registration fee covers administrative costs and program costs.
Administrative costs include (but not limited to):
Vienna Youth Incorporated administration fee which helps fund the shared services provided by VYI, such as the website, background checks for coaches, organizational insurance, and investments in new construction or refurbishment of fields and facilities.
Fairfax County for each registered participant.
Program costs include (but not limited to):
Practice and game equipment (balls, tackle dummies, ruck shields, jerseys, field marking materials, medical kits, pinnies, etc.)
Fees (Referees, EMTs / Medical Trainers at games, tournament registration fees, coach training/certification fees, and USA Rugby coach membership fees)
Player gift (Usually one or two gifts are given to players depending on the amount budgeted; Hoodie, T-shirt & shorts, rugby ball, rugby shorts)
Fee waiver (Families that are unable to afford the full registration fee can request assistance.)
