As stated previously, competing is not required and is a decision for parents and wrestlers. Ask a coach for guidance if you are unsure.
Our team schedule now includes upcoming tournaments. Please RSVP if you are planning to attend a tournament and registered successfully. Age groups start at different times and we must be sure a coach is available during all matches.
Northern Virginia Wrestling Federation (NVWF, aka Federation) and Top of the Podium (TOP) are the two organizations holding weekly tournaments in our area. Firebirds' wrestlers may compete in either, or both if necessary based on schedule. TOP’s tournament series is called the Winter Wrestling Series, but we will just refer to it as TOP for now.
NVWF’s tournaments are held on Sundays and open to anyone in our club who would like to compete. The cost of NVWF registration is covered by club fees. To register, complete the form on NVWF’s Registration Page and choose Vienna as your club. You must register before the day of your first tournament.
TOP’s tournaments are usually held on Saturdays, though there are some exceptions. Their tournament series structure requires clubs to submit a roster at the beginning of the season. A roster of 10 wrestlers (the minimum) has been submitted, based on answers to our competition survey before TOP’s roster deadline. Non-rostered individuals can still register for each tournament, but are put on a waitlist until the deadline for rostered wrestlers. The rostered wrestlers/parents will be emailed to provide a code for their registration. See TOP’s Registration Links page to register. The registration deadline for a TOP tournament is Monday the week of the tournament.

- Singlet or compression top and shorts. (Firebirds singlets are provided for competitors. There is a $50 deposit required.)
